The medals were found at a bus stop and handed in to the sub-branch.
They are the Australian Active Service Medal, Korean War Medal, United Nations Service Medal (Korea) and Australian Service Medal with the clasp Japan.
Two of the medals are originals and two are replicas.
The medals were awarded to James Alexander Morgan.
Mr Morgan, who was in the Royal Australian Navy, served on the HMAS Sydney during the Korean War.
RSL Port Macquarie Sub-branch president Greg Laird said the sub-branch wanted to find the medals' owner or the family of the owner.
"I would think the owner or the family would be worried about them," he said about the medals.
Anyone with information should contact the Port Macquarie RSL Sub-branch on 6583 2748.
