Port Macquarie's Dean Jones has a dream of playing professional footy and is on his way to making it happen after being selected in the New South Wales Country Junior Rugby Union squad.

The 14 year old footballing prodigy plays for the under 14s Mid North Coast Axemen rugby union team, Port Macquarie Sharks,Hastings Valley Vikings and has played for Kempsey Cannonballs.
"I don't really know why I like it (rugby), it's just something that I really like," he said.
"It's not easy but it's good and I like the feeling of getting a try.
"Just knowing the work you've got to do to get a try, it's hard but feels good.
"My dream is to play professionally in the NRL or union, whatever comes I'll just take it.
"If I could play for anyone probably I'd prefer to play for Cowboys in North Queensland, because they've been my team since I was born.
"I like the Cowboys because of rugby league halfback Johnathan Thurston, he's just awesome."
Jones was one of 500 players representing Central North, Central West, Illawarra, Hunter, Central Coast, Mid North Coast, Far North Coast and New England at the NSW State Championships in Tamworth.
Competing with the Mid North Coast Axemen under 14s rugby union squad on the May 4 weekend, the Axemen completed three wins and two losses to collect fifth place.
Jones was then selected from the team for the New South Wales Country Junior Rugby Union under 14s Squad.
"It's alright, it's an experience for me and I've never been chosen in a side like that before," he said.
"It's something different and exciting.
"Probably my attacking around the outside and through the middle or maybe my intensity is what gets me through.
"They just said I played well and it showed."
Port Macquarie Sharks under 14s coach Mick Gilmore, who coaches Jones said he was very coachable and mature for his age.
"He's good, is very coachable and has a lot of ability," he said.
"He's very level headed, very skilled and can adapt to any position.
"Very mature for his age."
