The Sharks led 10-nil scoreline in the first fifteen minutes of Saturday, May 11's match, but were run down by the Blues who took a commanding 36 to 18 win at Lank Bain Oval in the Group 3 rugby league season.
Blues coach Anthony Boyd said his hair was turning gray at the start of the match.
"It was pretty tough when we were down ten-nil for about ten to fifteen minutes," he said.
"We had a guy sent off at about the fifteen minute mark of the game, we played pretty much the entire game with 12 men.
"It was a real gutsy win and I'm really proud of the effort."
The Sharks had won three of their first four matches including a 32-12 blitzing of Old Bar the week prior but were rolled by Wauchope's undefeated run.
"We're not getting ahead of ourselves, we're a young side and the bunch of young kids are willing to learn and work for each other," said Boyd.
"I think that was the difference on the day, we had way better team play and they had a team of individuals - I think they got a hiding they deserved on the weekend.
"There's no big egos and superstars, at the end of the day a good team will beat a team of individuals."
In the under 18s Port Macquarie Sharks defeated Wauchope Blues, 14 to 4 while the Sharks also collected a 32 to 16 point win in the reserve grade.
