As part of ongoing fundraising for the school's Legal Justice Fund year 12 legal studies students hosted a bake sale and kindness day.
The aim was to bring about social inclusion and harmony among students but also to continue advocacy for an issue close to students' hearts.
Student Grace Biron said she was proud to be part of the legal studies class fighting for justice.
"The Legal Justice Fund was set up a few years ago to help local women fleeing domestic violence," Grace said.
"Each year the year 12 legal studies class takes it upon themselves to raise fund to help provide equipment to keep women safe.
"We have partnered with Liberty Family and Domestic Violence Specialist Services and we host a number of events throughout the year."
Grace said the bake sale was a chance for the whole school to get behind the great cause.
"Today we have done random acts of kindness and students could purchase a chocolate to give to other students," she said.
"We had a bake sale at break and at lunch we had a disco as well. Kindness day is about coming together and being nice to each other.
"It really is a social issue especially at school and if we are kind to one another it really does change the school for the better."
Corey Baker, another student in year 12 legal studies at MacKillop said with the horrific domestic violence statistics more should be done.
"As part of our family law unit in legal studies we learn about domestic violence and when we found out that 18 women have already been killed this year and it is only May we really saw the need to do something to help," Corey said.
"Over the course of the year we hope to raise over $12,000 to help people in domestic violence situations."
