Twenty-five short films were shown for the Hastings Valley Community of Schools opening night at Port Macquarie's Majestic Cinemas on May 8.
Other sessions are booked out for May 9 and 15.
The films range in theme from cake, kindness and loneliness to the importance of friendship or environmental sustainability.
The films were created by 280 students, aged five to 17 across the Port Macquarie-Hastings area.
Popular films on the night include stop motion style films with overlay voices from students, advertisements and music videos as well as films about overcoming disability or promoting diversity.
There are also a number of comedies featuring teachers with plans for world domination and detective investigations.
