The Port Macquarie Golf Club course was cloudless and upbeat as golfs traversed along the greens, hit the occasional sand bunker and socialised.
The sporting competition was founded by Ms Farr in 2014, who passed away with ovarian cancer the same year.
Golfer and sponsor Anne Coutts said the day was about raising awareness and funding to fight ovarian cancer in the community.
"We like to make the ladies aware of ovarian cancer because it's so silent, it creeps up," she said.
"Many ladies know about breast cancer and their screenings but ovarian cancer seems to slip by.
"We're also raising money towards ovarian cancer research for a cure."
During the event golfing teams of four compete for around $2000 in prizes using a best three of four scores system on Wednesday, May 8.
