Hamilton and Josh Gardner scored both goals for the Saints in some strong team combination play during the Football Mid North Coast Premier League at Findlay Park on Saturday, May 4.
Unfortunately Hamilton was later taken from the field with a concussion after a head clash.
Coach Darrell Pascoe said he was impressed with some strong passing towards goal and second efforts in front of goal during the game.
"Both goals were good examples of combination play all the way through," he said.
"Patrick Hamilton scored but was taken to hospital with concussion head clash. Josh Gardner scored our second goal.
The match was not as one-sided as the scoreline indicates with both teams yet to score a goal at halftime and a number of solid saves throughout the showdown.
"It's early days in the season and we've got a young team but we're building our combinations," said Pascoe.
"The match against Camden Haven at Findlay on May 11 is sure to be another great game."
In the Premier League's other first grade matches Taree Wildcats were downed by Macleay Valley Rangers (1-4) and Tuncurry Forster were defeated by Port United FC (1-2).
Wauchope had the bye.
In the reserves, Port Saints were defeated by Wallis Lake, three goals to one.
