The federal electorate of Cowper has the highest number of eligible voters in the country.
Cowper covers 7,296 sq km between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, including also Kempsey, South West Rocks, Bellingen and Dorrigo.
There are 124,507 people eligible to vote in the electorate, the highest number of voters in the country.
This compares to the smallest electorate in Australia, Solomon in the Northern Territory at 69,332.
There are 64,757 female voters compared to 59,732 male voters.
In terms of age, Cowper has the second highest number of voters in the country over 70 at 28,799.
The neighboring electorate of Lyne has the highest number of voters over the age of 70.
The average household income is $431 less than the average national income and residents with a trade certificate qualification or higher is four per cent under the national average.
Eight candidates will do battle for the federal election on May 18 in the seat of Cowper.
The National's Luke Hartsuyker has held the seat since 2001.
He announced he was retiring in April 2018.
