Cowper covers 7,296 sq km between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, including also Kempsey, South West Rocks, Bellingen and Dorrigo.
There are 124,507 people eligible to vote in the electorate, the highest number of voters in the country.

Eight candidates will do battle for the federal election on May 18 in the seat of Cowper.
The National's Luke Hartsuyker has held the seat since 2001.
He announced he was retiring in April 2018.
