Weatherzone meteorologist Kim Westcott said the May 5 weekend was bringing cooler conditions with a low pressure system off shore in Port Macquarie.
"We're expecting gusty south-westerly winds, coming through cooler temperatures of 23 degrees on Saturday," she said.
"It will be cloudy with chance of showers on Saturday with 10mm to 20mm of rain and periods of heavier showers.
"Sunday will be windy with showers continuing and a low pressure system offshore.
"There will be showers, some or most stages of the morning, but drier throughout the remainder of the afternoon and evening."
Six-time Ironman and 10-time half Ironman athlete, Julie 'Singe' Parish said weather conditions were not a concern for competitors.
"Twenty-one degrees is perfect, there's a high tide in the swim," she said
"It's going to be a long day but we all do it in the same conditions and mother nature is the boss.
"I just hope everyone who starts, finishes."
The Men at Work traffic control team leader said the event was wonderful for Port Macquarie.
