The event was this year raising funds for Endeavour Clubhouse.
Lions Club duck master, Colin Hardwick said the day was focused on community and raising funds.
"It was great to see so many people come along and enjoy the day," he said.
"We had two races today - the public race and the business hours duck race.
"The Lions Club would like to thank everyone who participated, our sponsors and the volunteers."
Mr Hardwick said the duck race was an "all-club member event".
He described the support of the community as "fantastic" and noted that the event attracted plenty of families.
"We always get wonderful support for this event," he said.
"I mean, as usual it is chaos, but it is for a good cause.
"So we enjoy it (the chaos) but we always fund raise and support local organisations with proceeds from the duck race."
Mr Hardwick said Endeavour Clubhouse does a fabulous job in the community.
"But they are always struggling for ongoing funds. So we are trying to do as much for them as we can."
Hastings Education Fund also receives support from the duck race.
"The Hastings Education Fund assists students who are going onto tertiary education both at TAFE and university.
"Some of these kids, if they did not get support from the fund, would not be able to go on and further their studies.
"I understand that last year the fund assisted 38 students across the Port Macquarie-Hastings."
There were 1200 ducks released in the public race while half that number were released for the business race.
"Most of the ducks are fairly naughty and we sometimes struggle to get them to race property," Mr Hardwick added.
For winner of the public race, Kevin Chilvers, it was a case of going one better in the 2019 event.
"I was the runner-up in the 2018 event and I am really pleased to go one better this year," he said.
"Congratulations to the Lions club on putting on this great community event."
Second place was claimed by David while Alyce Bennett picked up third prize.
