There were plenty of activities to keep the youngsters busy from live entertainment to picnic races and about 30 community information stalls.
Volunteer HQ, a service of the Port Macquarie Neighborhood Centre, was one of the stallholders.
Volunteer Vickii Love said the service links volunteers or people who want to volunteer with organisations within the Port Macquarie community.
"We have a lot of organisations that require volunteers whether it is Meal on Wheels or Uniting Care," Ms Love said.
"We try and matchmake if you like."
Ms Love said they are always in need of volunteers and a variety of occupations are required.
"Regardless of whether it is paid or not paid everybody loves to volunteer."
