The Port Macquarie Historical Museum is curating the exhibition.
Curator of the Port Macquarie Historical Museum Debbie Sommers said the sixties were an iconic decade.
"The sixties was a time of great social change and so it is memorable for so many of us," Ms Sommers said.
"For many people classic sixties fashion has never gone out of fashion and cars from the sixties still turn heads whenever they drive by today.
"Pop culture is still popular and relevant today in many facets of our lives such as music."
Ms Sommers said the museum's photography collection from the sixties is extensive.
"Fashion, cars, landscapes, sporting and other events including the Carnival of the Pines festival, weddings and floods all feature in our snapshot digital exhibition."
Ms Summers said it had been fun to put the exhibition together.
She said they are encouraging people to sit back and relax, enjoy the exhibition in the museum garden.
"We want people to relive and reflect on the sixties, then wander through our museum .
The SHINE Festival also coincides with the Australian Heritage Festival and the museum's new exhibition 'Hall Stories' which will also be able to be viewed.
Sixties in the Spotlight is for one night only on Tuesday 23 April from 6pm to 9pm at the Port Macquarie Historical Museum.
The event is free.
