Or the amount of burpees he's forced him to do as punishment for making an error during training sessions.

Or the amount of YouTube clips he's watched as a way to to correct the 18-year-old's sprint technique.

But it will be all worth it when the Glassie duo represent their respective NSW Country teams in the annual City-Country oztag clash on the Central Coast.

Deon will line up for the men's 45s while Elia will take his place in the men's 20s team at the Central Coast Regional Sporting Complex on June 8-9.

"It all started off about five years ago when I started bringing "Easy" to oztag training sessions and he has just blossomed," Glassie said.

"There has been a lot of time and effort heading to Tuffins Lane on a Sunday afternoon."

The teenager's commitment to training is an aspect his dad has been in awe of - not once has he complained about the amount of work he had to do.

"Every time he'd drop the ball it was 10 burpees and he'd do them straight away; then he got fitter so I had to make it 20," he said.

"I think it might be a pity position just for me, not like "Easy" who has earned his spot."

Glassie senior admitted it would be a weekend he would cherish forever.

"It's special for me personally because not many fathers can mark this off their bucket list (where we have) both won a State Cup title (as well)," he said.

"He keeps me young too.

"Over the last few years I've packed on a few kilos and he has asked me to pass the footy around outside.

"When I get outside he'll have the agility ladder, six cones, two footballs and a kicking tee all set up and I'll look at him and say 'you're kidding aren't you?"

Elia said he first took up oztag about four years ago when he joined his dad's mixed social team in the Port Macquarie competition.

He has continued to improve ever since, culminating in his first State Cup victory with the men's 20s at Coffs Harbour last month.

"I was pretty surprised when I found out; a couple of the boys messaged me from my team in Tamworth and let me know, but I didn't know what to expect," he said.

"I've been looking forward to it for a while, so it's good to do it."

"I've learned everything from dad so I'm pretty happy with it."

Port Macquarie will have a strong representation in the different men's divisions at the City-Country clash.

In the mens 35's, Scott Comber, Josh Mann, Gil Hopley have all been selected with Chris Young and Kenny Anderson announced as shadows.

Greg Smith, Brad Deegenaars, Steve Van Gemert, Greg Gleeson, Peter Gleeson, Anthony Murphy and Matt Rulis have been selected in the men's 45s which will be coached by David Bradley.

The local winter competition kicks off in May with registration nights coming up on the May 6 and 8 at the Settlers Inn.

Mixed and men's divisions will play on Monday nights at Stuart Park.
