Five rounds in and our senior competition is still very close in all divisions, although there are some strong contenders in each division.
Saints Tritons are sitting in top spot in division one on 12 points, closely followed by Port Combined Cougars and Port Combined Patriots both on 10 points.
Division two has Saints Fantastic, Saints Miedecke Masters and Port Panthers RSL sharing the number one spot with 10 points each, closely followed by Wauchope Nuffins on 9 points.
In an extremely large division three competition, only four points separate competition leaders and sixth place on the ladder.
Saints Newcomers lead the way on 15 points ahead of Port Panthers Sirens on 13 points. Newcomers are the only undefeated team left on Monday nights.
Saints Donut Divas and Port Combined Pumas share equal top billing in division four, both on 12 points in a relatively close division.
Port Combined 'On the Ball' entered division one this season, not expecting to win the competition, but with the expectation of developing some of the clubs juniors to assist with their transitioning from the junior competition to the senior competition.
Captain Adrienne Smith is pleased to lead this mixed team of young and old.
"We have five of our 10 players under the age of 18, with Georgia Flowers only 14," she said.
"However, all the young girls have played or are playing in Hastings Valley representative teams, so they all know how to play a fast and intense game."
With no netball being played over the school holidays, the HVNA executive would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe relaxing break, and a happy Easter.
Seniors are back on the court on April 29 with juniors returning on May 4, with the official opening of the 2019 season and the popular HVNA march past.
