Lincoln and Short finished one-two in the open division while Tallis Keft took out the grommets.
Short took out third place in the dropknee.
In the club's monthly club competition, the three were a step above the other 30 bodyboarders in solid three to four feet of swell.
PMBA president Clayton Pickworth said it was a challenge for all surfers despite the ideal conditions.
"Conditions were really heavy and the grommets struggled out there," he said.
"It was blowing off shore which was really good for bodyboarders, but there were some really heavy banks off Lighthouse."
Pickworth said around the same number of competitors took to the water after their first day last month.
"Dylan Short went really well in the dropknee and open division," he said.
The next competition day for the club will be held at the end of May following Mothers Day while the teams challenge will take place over the June long weekend.
Pickworth said teams from Port Stephens and Newcastle had already been locked in.
