Thousands of book lovers descended on Panthers Port Macquarie for the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie's Giant Book Sale from Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7.
More than 30,000 books were on offer over the three days with genres ranging from novels to biography, Australiana, self-help, true crime, children's books and cookbooks.
Giant Book Sale coordinator Bob Cleland said the book sale was busy the whole time.
"It's a case of the more people who know about it, the more people who come," he said.
Mr Cleland said the $22,000 raised was a 15 per cent increase on the 2018 book sale total which was the event's biggest year at that stage.
"It was a great result and clearly our reputation has spread," Mr Cleland said.
He thanked The Port News and Panthers Port Macquarie for their support.
Friday, April 5 was the busiest day.
Mr Cleland said that was when the really keen book lovers came down to make sure they had a chance of getting in first.
"There is always a queue at the door [on day one] and there seemed to be a pretty high level of satisfaction with the books," he said.
The book sale is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie with the bulk of the proceeds supporting community projects.
