The regional event gathers over 600 students interested in the written, spoken, visual and digital word with over 31 professionals for dozens of schools workshops on June 6.
The festival of words will feature 25 creative workshops and practical sessions with students from ten schools at Newman Senior Technical College.
Presenters called up this year include Underdog editor Tobias Madden, manga artist Kenny Chan, poet Emilie Zoey Baker, audio producer Nicole Curby and headliner, The Gathering author Isobelle Carmody.
Annual returning presenter for film making and Young Australian Citizen of the Year 2012, Michael Wilkie said the presenters were a collection of the industry's best talent.
"I've been part of it for previous two years and not only is it a really great way of story telling but students can appreciate that English doesn't have to be boring," he said.
"Nowadays everyone can be a story teller with a phone, but we're able to show them a more professional way to express their stories.
"These are quality presenters, people who are at the top of their game and are happy to let children use industry quality equipment."
Local teacher librarians at MacKillop College and St Joseph's Regional College, Suzanne Penson and Karen Bale said the project is a great asset for creative learning in years 7 to 12.
"The aim is engaging young people in the written, spoken and digital word," said Ms Bale.
"All the presenters have got their own special talents, there are people operating high quality multimedia equipment and performances from local presenters."
Ms Penson said there is the future benefit of helping students decide on a career they may like to pursue.
"Students gain skills and expertise for employment that they can choose in the future," she said.
"We are hoping there will be finished products produced such as podcasts, animations or films."
Last year's event was a sure-fire hit with modern novelists, journalists, photographers, poets, pod casters and bloggers attending as presenters.
LitFest is supported by MacKillop College, St Joseph's Regional College, Newman College, ClickView, Australian Film Television and Radio School, Snap Print designs, Catholic Schools Office Lismore and St Agnes' Parish.
