And like most five-year-olds 'The Lost Plot' is having a party and everyone is invited.
The party will be on Saturday April 13 and include pizza making, activities and the unveiling of a stunning mosaic that has recently been installed around the pizza oven.
Artist Krissa Wilkinson was commissioned to make the mosaic.
She then invited fellow creatives Kerry Wheeldon and Jan Dennis to collaborate on the project.
"The collaboration was marvelous, a totally difference experience to the contemplative solitude that artists usually work in," Ms Wilkinson said.
When the artists first looked at the site, they brainstormed garden themed ideas and came up with butterflies, dragonflies, bees, trailing vines and flowers.
Ms Wilkinson said the mosaic took many months to put together.
"Recycled coloured glass scraps were donated by lead-light artist Sandi Ozolins, which was then cleaned and sorted.
"Each tiny glass tile was hand cut and the mosaic took several months to complete, as the artists met to work in their free time.
"There was a great sense of camaraderie and a determination to complete the daunting task."
President of 'The Lost Plot' Graeme Evans said it had been "fantastic" to see the community garden evolve over the last five years.
"It went from being a grass area golf course, overgrown lantana and rubbish area to garden beds, rain water tanks, a building shed and last year we finished fencing as well.
"We now have a very interesting garden with a kids playground area and even a compost toilet!".
The community garden currently has 100 volunteers.
"Some of us are keen gardeners, others are novices," Mr Evans said.
"People come for the community as well as just getting good things to eat."
Mr Evans said everybody is welcome to volunteer at the garden.
"We have toddlers and we have have a 90-year-old, we don't really exclude anybody."
"It doesn't matter if you know anything about gardening our focus is about sustainability and helping people learn, appreciate local food and learn a bit more about growing their own food."
The Lost Plot 5th Birthday Party is on Saturday April 13, 2019 11.00am -3.00pm at The Lost Plot, Central Road, Port Macquarie. Everybody is invited, bring a plate to share.
