Port Macquarie Lifeguards released a statement on social media advising swimmers to swim to the surf conditions around 9.45am on Thursday, March 28.
"Slightly messy conditions have set in today at our open faced and south facing beaches," it said.
No further than waist depth swimming advised.
"Conditions will worsen over the weekend with wind and swell increasing, and ease back off mid next week."
Port Macquarie is expected to have two to three foot surf today (March 28) with wind gusts between six to nine miles per hour.
