The package was left at the entrance of the home and upon its discovery, the police were contacted.
Emergency services including NSW Police, Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service are on scene. It is believed the bomb squad is on the scene.
A spokesperson for Dr Gillespie said they immediately followed protocol and contacted police when the package, a cylinder, was found.
The property has been cordoned off and an exclusion zone was established while investigations are underway, a NSW Police spokesperson said.
"Officers have responded to a call for assistance and have established a perimeter around a home as they attempt to identify an item left outside.
"There is no apparent risk to the community. Local detectives are investigating."
