The town is in the grip of motorbike mania with retiring residents returning to the saddle and enjoying the thrill of a bike ride as they settle down, according to Mr Stone.
"I've been into motorbikes since I got my licence," he said.
"There are many clubs in Taree, Kempsey and Port Macquarie with a good mix of original English and American bikes.
"It must be because there's good riding along Oxley Highway and around the mountains.
"Many riders are at the age of retiring and are wanting to get a bike again."
The Port Macquarie Classic Motorcycle Club president and fellow club members are making final arrangements for their annual showcase from 10am at Settlers Inn on Sunday, March 31.
In the club's eighth year of operation and fifth year of showcases, riders will be raising funds towards the Palliative Care Unit at Wauchope Hospital by gold coin donation on entry.
Club founder and former vice president John Butler said the family event was a highlight for local residents, current motorcyclists and their kids.
"Depending on the weather there could be over 68 bikes as lots of families walk around and have lunch," he said.
"The show will feature bikes from the 1920s up to 1989.
"It's a good chance to get there for the start around 10am, have a wander around, ask questions and chat with the owners of bikes."
Awards are also presented on the day for best bikes in categories of English, American, European, pre-1940 vintage and 1930 to 1945 veteran, as well as best club bike of the show.
The club features American, Japanese, European and British bikes which are at least 30 years old.
