The morning of coffee, food, hair care and socialising was organised by the Community Hair Project and hosted at Port Anglican Soup Kitchen on March 20.
The project provides relief with free hair cuts to those living on the streets or currently in hard situations, returning to Port Macquarie every four months in 2019.
Local resident Benjamin Morris said he hadn't had his hair cut since 2017 for personal reasons and decided today was the big day.
"It's nice to come along to socialise, meet people and fill the body with some nutrition," he said.
"I'm highly impressed with my haircut, you just know when you look in the mirror and instantly like it.
"The hairdresser did exceptionally well, it's a feeling of being reborn."
"You can't put it into words."
Local baristas from Salty Crew volunteered their time and coffee making skills on the day while ANZ Bank staff manned the barbecue.
