Can Assist executive director Emma Phillips visited Rotary Lodge on Monday, March 18 and met with Rotary Lodge representatives.
The visit also raised awareness.
The talks will ultimately help people affected by cancer.
Can Assist provides support for accommodation and financial assistance to help people in rural and regional NSW affected by cancer.
The charity is committed to ensure all country people, regardless of where they live, have access to cancer treatment and care.
"What Can Assist is trying to do is bring some equality to rural and regional NSW patients and lighten the burden for them," Mrs Phillips said.
Accommodation support is part of the help Can Assist provides.
Rotary Lodge manager Paula Johnson said the discussions between Rotary Lodge and Can Assist would lead to a flow of information and ensure people knew they had options.
Cancer patients having treatment at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, along with their loved ones, are among the guests at Rotary Lodge.
Mrs Phillips gave the thumbs up to Rotary Lodge.
She said in the dark area of sickness, the environment could bring warmth and compassion, which could in turn bring strength to patients and their families.
Can Assist has 54 branches around NSW with a strong network of volunteers who raise vital funds to provide direct support to those in their communities affected by cancer.
Money raised in each area stays in that area.
Mrs Phillips said the result of the volunteers' hard work went back into their communities.
Can Assist is in discussions about how to reinvigorate the Mid North Coast Branch.
Rotary Lodge chairman Phil Hafey said Rotary Lodge would be looking to support the reinvigoration of the Can Assist Mid North Coast Branch to help people in the area.
