Every year, people shell out millions upon millions of dollars to live on Sydney's North Shore. It's picturesque. It has some of the best views money can buy. And, it's one of the most sort after addresses in the nation.

But what if there was another neighbourhood that could offer the same beauty for a fraction of the price? One that wasn't as flash and gaudy and crowded and overpopulated?

One that was within a stone's throw of the pacific ocean? One that is next door to a stunning Aussie beach, the type most foreigners only ever dream of seeing?

One that was only separated from the sea by a strip of pristine rain forest? A natural wonder that predates Christianity?

A place where you could not only sea change but actually settle down and enjoy your retirement? A little slice of paradise, built specially for you?

Catarina Estate is one of the most unique boutique estates currently on offer, located at Rainbow Beach, just 15 minutes south of Port Macquarie on the NSW mid north coast.

This sea side village combines both sophistication and tranquility, creating a lifestyle that is truly second to none.

Nationwide Property Brokers (NPB), is currently selling the first stage of the development off the plan - which consists of a select offering of architecturally designed terraces - and they're already receiving a massive amount of interest.

NPB CEO Paul Loughland says he's fielded many inquiries about the development, mainly from retirees and professionals looking to escape the rat race of the city.

However, moving to the coast doesn't mean giving up the trappings. While it is tight knit coastal community, Port Macquarie is home to top health, educational, cultural and sporting facilities as well as transportation. You're not cut off from the world, and that, he says, is a big part of the allure.

At the end of the day though, it is the properties themselves and their stunning location that is really driving interest.

"The Terraces cleverly combine awe-inspiring and functional architecture with the natural beauty of their idyllic setting," Mr Loughland explained.

"From the smart engineered timber flooring to the elegant stone bench tops, the stylish interiors connect you to the surrounding natural beauty and create an atmosphere of casual sophistication..." he continued.

"Each Terrace also comes with ducted air-conditioning, a heated spa, which can be enjoyed all year round, and they can be fitted with an internal lift as an upgrade, if that's required for lifestyle purposes."

Perhaps best of all, he says, is the price. Each Terrace costs just $799,000 and doesn't come with any strings attached. There are no ongoing fees.

"They can also buy and settle on the land, as per the DA, to save on the stamp duty," Mr Loughland explained.

"So, you're only paying stamp duty on the land, which is $299,000 as opposed to stamp duty on the full $799,000, which is a massive saving."

Regardless of your hobbies, Port Macquarie can facilitate them, whether you want to surf at any one of the 17 pristine nearby beaches or explore the 40,000 hectares of local national parks, forests, rivers and lakes or even check out a world class show at the Glasshouse Theatre.

Port Macquarie is home to artists communities, sporting teams, beautiful dining facilities and cafes, university campuses, schools, hospitals and a local airport which flies daily to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Better still, you don't have to fight your way through traffic or worry about being late. Everything is just a ten to fifteen minute drive (the amount of time it normally takes to find a parking spot in the city).

Mr Loughland doesn't expect it will take too long for the Terraces to sell. That's why, he says, if you're looking for a sea change you should get in fast.

"There's a very limited number available," he said.

"There's only 30 of them, and we've already sold five of them! This is a really unique opportunity. And, when they're gone, they're gone!"
