Site works start in mid-March on the expansion project at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Flynns Beach.
A company spokesperson said businesses and tradespeople were being engaged to assist with the construction and supplies.
"We expect the project will attract more visitors to the region and benefit local employment directly through an estimated seven new resort jobs and indirectly when some service suppliers (like contractors) create additional positions," the spokesperson said.
The development, which will increase the apartment numbers from 60 to 113, also includes a cafe, gym, games area, children's pool, common area pavilions and car parking.
The reception area will be relocated to the front of the property.
The expansion will be split into five stages with an anticipated completion in 2020.
The development cost is not disclosed.
