The streets of Port Macquarie will be packed with iconic Holdens as drivers enjoy a classic cruise through town and along the Hastings coastline before setting up a Show and Shine at Port Macquarie Racecourse from 10.30am, Saturday, March 16.
Judging will take place from 10.30am to noon and the Port Macquarie SES will be on hand to demonstrate rescue techniques from 12.30pm. Trophies and awards presentations from 1.30pm.
Club secretary Mick Brownlow said the turnout for the event was always dependent on favourable weather, but he was expecting around 100 cars.
"All the old Holdens which are 30 years or older will be there," he said.
"The Toranas, Statesman, all the classic models and newer commodores.
"For me it's about being a motoring enthusiast and appreciating cars that are Australian built.
"As a kid you saw these in the street and imagined having one, it's like having the toys you missed out on a kid."
"We're anticipating up to 100 cars and we have three of Peter Brock's 05 cars coming, the most iconic cars."
Mr Brownlow said the route was planned out and ready to go.
"We'll be setting up from 8am, departing for the cruise around 9am along Oxley Highway to Gordan Street," he said.
"Turning right into Lord Street and then Ocean Drive before heading South through Laurieton, drivers will then head back to the donut and into the race track.
"Best time to see the cars would be around 11am."
On the day the Club will be raising funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Port Macquarie SES.
"This year will be the twelfth year of the event, the seventh supporting SES and the third supporting the Westpac Helicopter," said Mr Brownlow.
For those who can't wait for March 16, a Hastings Old Holdens display will be on show at the Hastings Co-Op Twilight Tastings at Wauchope Showground from 5pm to 9pm on March 15.
