About 400 kids ran at Town Green on March 9.
Speaking after the race, Trent said he had a good start and had a good time just over the ten minute mark at Port Macquarie's Town Green on March 9. .
"It was great, I got a really good start," he said.
"I run a lot and have been running at Parkrun."
Trent has previously placed well in the NSW Primary Schools Sport Association state cross country titles and HRIS cross country in 2018.
Port Macquarie Running Festival race director Kevin Chilvers said it was a fantastic achievement and a good time.
"The kids have taken over the town today. It's been a great run and happy spirit from the 400 kids in the race," he said.
"Rob De Castella was at the finish as well, possibly looking at the next generation of Olympic long distance runners today.
"He's (Trent) crossed the line in just a tick over ten minutes which is a superb time for a kid to be running."
Mr Chilvers said the day was a celebration of kids running.
Next up is the adult version with tomorrow's events promising to be a monster triple-header of running starting on Sunday at 7am on Town Green with a 21.1km half marathon, then 10km run and a quick 5km sprint to cool off.
Start times are at 7am, 9am and 10am as athletes race for the glory of a Break Buster Medal to be presented at 11.45am.
The weekend's Treble Breakwall Buster, half marathon, 10km and 5km events have all sold out, pending cancellations.
