The club donated $1000USD to the Rotary Foundation in honour of Mark's Paul Harris Fellow, with the money to be used in the many amazing aid projects Rotary is engaged in worldwide.
Mr White is Hastings Secondary College Port Macquarie Campus School Careers Adviser and has been working at the school for the last 20 years.
"Throughout my career I have always wanted to help students make the most of opportunities presented to them," Mr White said.
"I enjoy seeing young people succeed and follow different pathways and I enjoy being part of that journey."
Mr White received the award "in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world."
"When I found out about the award I was totally surprised and caught off guard," he said.
"My main role has been to facilitate connections between the youth of our school and programs sponsored by The Rotary Club of Port Macquarie and I have been fortunate that our local club is so proactive in promoting and supporting Youth Programs.
"Often students from regional areas miss out on the range of opportunities that are available due to proximity and economic considerations.
"It is great to see the influence that these programs have had in shaping the direction of our students' career pathways."
Mr White said he wanted to thank the Rotary Club for reaching out to help young people living in Port Macquarie.
"I feel honoured to receive this special award but I would not be in the position that I am in without the assistance and enthusiasm of the Youth Directors of the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie, Gil Padarin-Innes and Diana Gammon.
"I have formed a great working relationship with these enthusiastic ladies and it is because of them that we can help so many young people."
Gil Padarin-Innes, youth director of the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie said she was delighted to be able to recognise Mr White in this way.
"For us one of the key areas of focus is youth but that can only be done in partnership with people like Mark who can identify which of our youth programs could assist students," Ms Padarin-Innes said.
"We are glad to be able to thanks and recognise Mark for the partnership that we have created to help young people realise their dreams."
