EAST Coast Eagles proved they are more than simply a successful futsal team at Forster on Sunday.

Their open women's team banged in 32 goals in six games to claim the Viking Challenge against more than 160 teams from all over New South Wales and Queensland.
These included first division, National Premier League and Women's Premier League clubs such as Merewether, North Sydney FC, Canberra and Newcastle.
They sailed through the tournament with comprehensive 8-0, 9-0, 6-0, 4-1 and 2-0 wins before cruising to a 3-0 victory in the final.
Coach Mick Day said it was a strong performance and one which came as a surprise to many, but not him.
"We ran with the pack and proved we're not just a futsal team," Day said.
"We thought we'd kick off the futsal shoes and put on the footy boots."
A common question has always been whether a futsal team could match it with a football team and the Eagles proved they could.
They scored at will.
"For us it was about a social visit following a strong focus on our national campaigns," Day said.
Only conceding one dubious goal in their six matches delivered some sort of a statement.
"Gone are the days of old school football techniques," Day said.
"The girls' passing and decision-making was second to none."
