The residents, ratepayers, consultants who spoke at the council meeting on Wednesday February 20 were unanimous in their support for an alternative route for the orbital road, that due process follow the release of the 1200+ page report released the Friday before, and more transparent community consultation(s) take place with PMHC/local MP, and its citizens.
Leslie Williams MP for Port Macquarie stated that “I would have thought an orbital road, by definition, would actually go round an area not straight through it.”
I understood that Leslie Williams was present at the PMHC meeting and applaud her for truly representing her constituents to ensure that “all avenues” are being exhausted in establishing an orbital road that satisfies its definition.
It is imperative that our PMH councillors and residents work closely with our elected state representative.
