The two day event at Port Macquarie racecourse attracted hundreds of visitors with many searching for ways to bring the good life into their home and leave a lighter touch on the environment.
Adding a celebrity touch to the event was television gardening guru Costa Georgiadis who hosted gardening workshops with the kids and judged the enviro-art competition. His enthusiasm was infectious among the crowd as he shared his passion for getting his hands dirty and making a difference to the health of our own backyards.
More than 50 displays, 30 seminar presentations, 15 workshops and a full program of children's activities such as sustainable crafting and ochre art were on offer.
The showcase is an initiative of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Sustainability Network, and is made possible by auspicing and support from Busways, Charles Sturt University and sponsorship from Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, CSU Green, Holiday Coast Credit Union, JR Richards, 360green, Midwaste, Greater Port Macquarie Focus and Essential Energy.
