Well on Friday, March 1, they certainly can with local business leaders back in their 'heels' for International Women's Day.
The Him in Heels event kicks off Friday morning at 8am and will see brave men in business wear women’s high heels and ‘walk the talk’ along the Port Macquarie breakwall from Town Green Wharf to the ‘Little Shack’ on Town Green.
Hastings Business Women’s Network President Kelly King said having local businessmen support the International Women’s Day and Him in Heels events is a great step forward for the Port Macquarie business community.
“It shows that men are interested and engaged in learning more about gender equality and how they can support employees in their business who may be at risk of domestic and family violence,” Mrs King said.
The walk will end with coffee and conversation about the issues women face in the workplace and how local businesses are addressing those challenges.
Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams said men who take part in the walk will help raise money for local victims of domestic violence.
“Proceeds from Him in Heels and the International Women’s Day Breakfast on Friday 8 March will be donated to Liberty Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services for ongoing refurbishments to their crisis accommodation and prevention programs,” Mrs Williams said.
The Him in Heels entry fee is $200 and includes a ticket to the International Women’s Day breakfast.
Registrations for both events are now open. Click here for more details.
