The event, as part of World Thinking Day, is all about remembering the past, reflecting on the present and exploring the possible future opportunities for guides.
Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship, an opportunity to speak out on issues that affect young women and fundraise for 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 150 countries.
Locally, guides came together on a trip through time reflecting on how the past and future was and will be different from the present.
Guide leader, Barbara Sherrin said despite the windy conditions at Town Green the girls had a great time.
"World Thinking Day is all about guides celebrating the birthday of our founder Olave Baden-Powell," Ms Sherrin said.
"It is a momentous day for us and one that guides all over the world celebrate.
"We took part in the worldwide event by participating in activities and everyone had a fantastic time.
"Each year there is a theme and this year was about leadership. The girls travelled through time going back to where guiding started and we also spoke about where guiding might be in the future."
Ms Sherrin said the girls met on their regular guide night but moved the location to Town Green so that the public could see what they were doing.
"For us it was a chance to get out into the community and everyone that walked past us could see what we were doing.
"Our activities were in our guiding syllabus and the girls who participated in the activities all received recognition for doing so."
