After the success of the first festival organisers are keen to go bigger and better in 2019.
The festival's official name is Nyiirun Djiyagan Wakulda Women’s Festival which translates to we are all sisters as one, and Rhonda Radley said stay tuned for some exciting announcements in the coming months.
"Today we officially launched the 2019 Nyiirun Djiyagan Wakulda Women’s Festival and announce that it will be held on May 10," Ms Radley said.
"The festival is an opportunity to bring together women of all ages in the community to share ideas and cultures.
"We are building on the success of last year and know the 2019 festival will be our best yet."
Ms Radley said the festival has been fortunate to lock in an number of key sponsors but are looking for more volunteers.
"We are grateful for the great sponsorship we have already been given but are looking for more support and volunteers on the day," she said.
"We have already had interest in the festival from as far away as Sydney, Queensland, Victoria and Coffs Harbour and are keen to make it the best festival it can be.
"We have also invited Aboriginal girls from all the local schools to come along on the day.
"We want to encourage young girls to come along to learn and interact with older generations so they can learn the wisdom of our Elders."
She said the festival is all about promoting wellbeing and the sisterhood in the community.
"The festival is about empowering women and girls to be their best.
"We will have stalls and activities for people to enjoy along with food and live entertainment. It will be a festival not to miss."
