Students in years 3-6 who recently qualified at their local school swimming carnivals had the chance to take it one step further vying for a place at the zone carnival in Kempsey in the coming weeks.
The Hastings-Camden Haven district swimming carnival is the first step on the way for students looking to qualifying for state swimming championships and beyond.
Students competed in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly races throughout the day.
