Areas affected included Port Macquarie, and, further afield, Taree, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Armidale and Lismore.
A thunderstorm produced a gust of 96 km/h at Coffs Harbour at 8:36pm.
2.3cm diameter hail was reported at Tuncurry on the Mid North Coast at around 5.50pm.
The forecast for today, Sunday February 10 in Port Macquarie is mostly sunny, with no rain, a maximum temperature of 27 and winds southwesterly 20 to 25 km/h, tending southerly in the morning and becoming light in the evening.
Tomorrow, Monday February 11, will be sunny with no rain and a maximum temperature of 30 celsius. Light winds becoming northeasterly 25 to 35 km/h in the middle of the day then tending northerly 15 to 25 km/h in the late evening.
Tuesday will be a very warm and sunny 34 degrees. Winds northerly 20 to 25 km/h becoming light during the morning then becoming north to northeasterly 20 to 30 km/h during the day.
Sun protection is recommended all week from 9am to 5pm. UV Index predicted to reach 13 (extreme).
