Port Macquarie Tacking Point Lions Club members have hosted a visit from their head honcho, Lions District Governor, David Emanuel and Lion, Jill Emanuel.
The visit was all part of the District Governor's annual door knock to discuss local clubs and attend board meetings on February 6.
Former district governor and current Tacking Point vice president Peter Mercer said the district governor aimed to visit each club once a year, at varying times.
"He held talks with the board, we had a dinner then he addressed the meeting of members at the Port Macquarie Golf Club," he said.
"I think he was quite impressed, we showed that since July we have contributed 6000 hours of work to the community.
"He also spoke about the Lions organisation in general and the recent election of our new international president, Gudrun Yngvadottir."
Ms Yngvadottir from Iceland was elected at the Lions' 101th International Convention in Las Vegas in July 2018 and is the first female international president.
She is a biomedical scientist and has been employed in research, education and management.
Mr Mercer said Mr Emanuel seemed very impressed with Tacking Point's efforts so far.
"The time of year when he visits usually depends on where he lives, he would try to visit two or three clubs at the same time, every year is different," he said.
"He was very impressed with our 31 members and projects we are working on.
"We've built a park at Lighthouse Beach, we took him to the hospital to see a children's playground contributed by the club and some renovations at Gaol Point."
