Students applied for and gained a grant from NSW government which funded this exchange visit.
Students gained first hand experience of healthcare aspects in China, gained cultural competency skills through engagement with nursing staff and patients, increasing nursing skills and experienced traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice.
Port Macquarie students have formed a collaboration with fellow students from Fudan university.
These students accompanied Port Macquarie students on hospital, traditional village, and cultural tours throughout the city of Shanghai.
Newcastle university will host nursing students in August as part of the university exchange program.
