Ruth Allen is one of the organiers and said each event they put on gets bigger and better.
“I think there is something really special about singing with a big group,” Ms Allen said.
“Globally there has been a rise in the pub choir movement and I think it is because people can come along for one night, have some fun and then leave.
“There is not the ongoing weekly commitment like a regular choir would have. We also keep the song fun and something that most people would know.
“However even if you have never heard of the song before we walk you through each step so even someone with no experience can join in.”
Ms Allen said the event on January 29, at 7.30pm will be the groups sixth in Port Macquarie.
“We have been doing BarCappella for nearly 18 months now and they seem to get increasingly popular,” she said.
“We are hosted by Settlers’ Inn and all the money raised from the tickets goes to a local charity.
“We try to pick a group who are fundraising for something in particular and are proud to have been able to raise just under $5000 for local projects.
“This time around we are raising money for the Coastal Warriors who are fund raising for a seabin.”
