The Hastings Valley Amateur Beekeepers Association’s first meeting delivered a mandate to keep the information flowing.
About 60 people attended the January 9 meeting at the Wauchope Community Arts Hall.
Hastings Valley Amateur Beekeepers Association president Charles Watkins said the first general meeting was nothing short of amazing.
“We had lots of input from beekeepers who have been beekeepers from one week to 30 years,” Mr Watkins said.
“Everyone was participating in the conversations and putting ideas forward on how they would like to see the club go.”
The club’s mission statement is to support and encourage new and experienced beekeepers in the club environment, offering education through teaching and interactive practical learning.
Mr Watkins said he had no doubt the club would have a bright future in the area.
Monthly meetings will begin with a focus on new beepers and progress to a topic chosen by the previous meeting.
The Hastings Valley Amateur Beekeepers Association will meet at 6.30pm on the second Wednesday of the month at a venue to be confirmed.
