On January 22 and 29 people will have the opportunity to get a taster of some of the equipment that is housed at the library said library manager Jim Maguire.
“We are heading to The Glasshouse so that people who might not always come to the library will get the chance to see some of the virtual reality equipment we have,” Mr Maguire said.
“We will have a mobile phone set up as well as a laptop so people will have the opportunity to go on a rollercoaster and a few other cool things.”
Mr Maguire said this year’s excursion to The Glasshouse is a chance for the Library to promote the new space at the library which is now dedicated to virtual reality equipment.
“For the last few years we have had virtual reality technology on offer at the library but with no dedicated space we could only bring it out for special events,” he said.
“Now with the dedicated portal space people can reserve the room any time the library is open for up to 1.5 hours at a time for free.”
The sessions at The Glasshouse will begin at 10am each day and go for two hours allowing plenty of time for people to explore just some of the fun things that are always at the library.
“We have done this for the last couple of years and is always hugely popular with kids and parents alike,” he said.
“The kids are always curious about what the possibilities of the technology are and the parents usually also get involved and end up having just as much fun.”
