Weatherzone meteorologist Craig McIntosh said the hot weather is here to stay.
“Along the coast on Wednesday we will see mostly dry and sunny conditions with a few clouds in the sky,” Mr McIntosh said.
“There will be showers and a chance of a thunderstorm over the ranges but on the coast temperatures will be in the low 30s.
“There is also a northeasterly wind which will be persistent for most of the day and will keep temperatures cooler. This is also why water temperatures have been below average recently.”
Mr McIntosh said as the week continues the chance of showers is expected to increase.
“There is a chance Port Macquarie will get some rain over the next few days but we would expect it only to be around 1-5mms,” he said.
“The average rainfall in January is 160mm and nine days into the year we have recorded 0.6mm of rain so we are well behind in rainfall already.
“This comes as Port Macquarie recorded half the monthly rainfall in December and November last year.”
Heading into the weekend he said the weather is expected to stay warm.
“At this stage we expect to see temperatures stay the same over the weekend.”
