The three-day event was held at Laurieton and ended with the weigh-in at 1pm on Sunday, January 6.
Hosted by the Laurieton United Services Club Fishing Club, spokesperson Bert Hayes praised the anglers for their patience.
“There was red weed choking up the river, very few fishos could even get outside and the wind was howling from the north easterly direction … it wasn’t pleasant,” he said.
“However, we still managed to attraction 183 anglers which, given the conditions, is a remarkable turnout.
“There appears to be a fair few eskies ready for the weigh-in, so there were still plenty of fish caught.”
