Emergency services were called to the beach north of Coffs Harbour about 12.25pm on December 21, after reports a man was missing in the water.
A short time later witnesses pulled an unconscious man from the surf and began CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, but he died at the scene.
The man has been identified as a 60-year-old Swiss National.
On December 20, the body of a 27-year-old man was located by a fishing boat in the ocean near Point Plomer, north of Port Macquarie, after he went missing at Moonee Beach on Monday.
In that incident, two other men, aged 35 and 45, were removed from the water but were unable to be revived.
