United are just one of more than 130 centres across the state who continues the football season throughout the summer.
Greg McDonald, Port United Football Club summer football competition administrator, said while summer isn’t the usual time for football to be played, it provides players with the opportunity to continue their skills throughout the offseason.
It provides new players with the opportunity to try the game in a smaller format.
“Having TAFE NSW choose our centre to visit is a great way to celebrate the end of the season and we look forward to a fun and exciting new experience,” McDonald said.
“The competition has been running for around 30 years and maintains a great casual atmosphere for players to get involved in over the summer months.
TAFE NSW kicks up the summer heat by bringing its tropical chill-out zone to local football clubs as the TAFE NSW Summer Football season wraps up for the holidays.
Since signing as naming rights partner of the summer football season across all of NSW earlier in the year, TAFE NSW has contributed new equipment including balls, bibs and signage to all clubs, to encourage players to continue keeping fit during the warmer season.
