The teenager broke several records when he entered the water two weeks ago and coach Michael Mullens is expecting big things again next week at the Chandler Swimming Club.
Phoebe Bentley will headline the Hastings contingent heading to Sydney Olympic Park along with William Crowley, Kiera Hetherington, Oliver Howe, Hayley Kable, Sarah Kendal and Luke Mapstone.
Kathrina McClure, Pat Mullens, Shanay Northey, Zara Phillips and Isaac Rumble will also head south, but it was Smith and Bentley that Mullens was most looking forward to seeing in action.
“I’m expecting big things from the two of them this season,” he said.
“Nathan was the standout male at the whole meet at district two weeks ago.”
