Dr Rahul Mohan is continuing his training at Greenmeadows Medical. He was named GP Synergy North Coast Registrar of the Year at an awards evening in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday December 5.

The award presented by local GP training provider, GP Synergy, recognises excellence and ongoing commitment to quality general practice education and training.

Dr Mohan's journey to GP training began as a combat medic in the Singapore Army, where he was a first responder.

“I realised that preventative medicine is the true front line of medicine and that was what eventually attracted me to becoming a GP,” he said.

“Port Macquarie has a diverse community, and everyone has a unique story to share, it has made GP training an enriching learning experience.

“When I complete my training it would be fantastic to keep working in Port Macquarie, and continue being a part of the community,” Dr Mohan said.

GP Synergy CEO, John Oldfield, congratulated Dr Mohan on his achievement.

“It is a pleasure for GP Synergy to recognise excellence and commitment in GP training.

“Training the GPs of tomorrow is a team effort involving registrars, their GP supervisors and practice staff.

“With 200 registrars currently training in more than 100 accredited general practices in the North Coast region, Dr Mohan’s achievement is certainly something to be proud of,” he said.
