Here's Friday's (7/12/18), minimum and maximum prices for unleaded 91 in our local areas -
- Kempsey: Min 143.9 Independent Max 164.9 Coles
- Tele Point: Min 144.9 Independent Max 144.9 Independent
- Port Mac: Min 134.9 Independent Max 160.4 Coles
- Wauchope: Min 148.9 BP Max 166.9 Coles
- Laurieton: Min 1349 Independent Max 134.9 Independent
The independent in Gordon Street Port Macquarie, and the four independents in Laurieton have the best price at 134.9.
Coles servos clearly have the highest prices (160.4 - 166.9), and Woolworths servos are not far behind Coles' prices.
In Port Macquarie, the Coles' price is 25 cents per litre more expensive than the Gordon Street Independent. Surely this is outrageous, and outright highway robbery.
The Port Macquarie News, the Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce, the NRMA, and the ACCC need to take on Coles and Woolworths with a relentless campaign to boycott Coles and Woolworths' servos.
They are unfairly using their market power to dictate petrol prices in regional Australia.
Isn't that practice illegal under Trade Practices and Consumer legislation?
