The exhibition is a showcase of work from members of the Creative Souls Collective Group and will be the first time they will be hosting an exhibition.
The exhibition opens to the public on December 8 and Cherie Marshall and Kathy Appleby said it was an exciting time for the group who hope to expand in 2019.
“The Creative Souls Collective Group is a great mix of different artists who come together and share their passion for art,” Ms Appleby said.
“Once a month we get together and show what we have been doing and see if there is anything we can learn from others in the group.
“We are all always doing something different so each meeting has a different vibe but we are all relaxed and enjoy learning something new.
“In the group we have all kinds of creative people; from writers and woodworkers, to painters, photographers, musicians and graphic designers. For us it is just a chance to get together, share what we are doing and sometimes ask for advice.”
They said the exhibition is a chance for all the members of the group to showcase what they have been working on this year.
“The group only really began in July so for us to already be at an exhibition is amazing,” Ms Marshall said.
“For some of our members this will be the first time they will be taking part in an exhibition which is special.
“Part of what makes this group really special is that it is a safe space where people can explore and collaborate in their different artistic spaces.
“This groups gives us permission to explore, experiment and stretch the boundaries of what we know and to share that with others.”
The exhibition will showcase work from up to 15 local artists and will be on display at the Sunset Galley from December 8-15.
