The choir’s motto is to get involved and help transform lives, and it’s an initiative of the School of Hard Knocks Port Macquarie Community college. It’s an inclusive, supportive choir for vulnerable or marginalised people who want to come together, make music and find friends.
The Lyne MP, Dr David Gillespie and Mayor Peta Pinson were among those in the audience at Port Uniting Church today (Sunday December 2) joining in the chorus of great songs like ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’.
Virtuoso guitarist Mat Brooker accompanied the choir, which was conducted by artistic director Tim Maddren, who was very enthusiastic and successful at getting the best out of the performers and the crowd.
The CMNC Children’s Choir were also on the program and after the concert, everyone was invited to afternoon tea and to meet the performers.
The choir are very grateful to their sponsors for their generous support over the past year:
- Mid North Coast Local Health District
- Conservatorium Mid North Coast
- Oz Harfvest
- Burkhardt’s Bakery
